Who should apply?
Licensed psychologists who live outside of King, Snohomish and Pierce Counties that want to expand their scope of practice and add revenue from outside managed health care. Or licensed master's level clinicians with 1,000 hours or more working or treating children and who have served as Guardian Ad Litem, with C.A.S.A. or D.C.F.S.

What are the criteria for earning the certificate?
1) Successful completion of all 12 hours of the two-day intensive workshop in the Forensic protocol; and 2) weekly participation in the video conference case consultation portion of the Psy.D. Program's Forensic Concentration (up to 30 hours) until participants obtain their first evaluation. After the first evaluation they then work individually on three case consultations, including drafting and review of case materials, that range from 95 to 250 hours and are scheduled at the participant's convenience.

How do I get cases?
Methods for working with family lawyers and county judges to obtain case referrals are covered in the two-day intensive course.

What jobs/work can psychologists obtain who complete the program?
You will be able to conduct family court cases of parenting evaluations for family law evaluations or juvenile court case evaluations for termination of parental rights.

Are there sources of financial aid?
There are sources of assistance through loans. While continuing education students are not eligible for graduate student loans, many lenders do offer career training/continuing education loans. Click here for more detailed information. Also, consider that outside of metropolitan Seattle, psychologists could obtain sliding-fee-scale evaluations from the court and offset the expense of being in the program.
