If you are a professional in psychology, social work, law, human resources, education or business and have a role in resolving workplace conflict or serve as an ombudsman, this program is for you.

According to the American Management Association, managers spend at least 24 percent of their time resolving conflicts at work. The professional mediation certificate program, offered in partnership with the Dispute Resolution Center of Snohomish and Island Counties teaches you how to resolve conflicts through facilitation and mediation.

The program is pre-approved for continuing education by the National Association of Social Workers, Puget Sound Educational Service District and the Washington State Bar Association and is recognized by many other professional organizations. Boeing employees are eligible for Learning Together Program support.

At the end of this certificate program, you are:

  • Equipped with techniques, strategies and hands-on experience to handle a variety of conflict situations with ease, from minor disagreements to potentially explosive confrontations
  • Practiced at applying these skills at your work or in your community
  • Able to identify how conflict resolution and mediation skills are used in a variety of workplaces and how these can enhance your career
