The Cycles of Change™ program includes the following:
- Understanding the Seasonal Model – Get an overview of the certification program, build an in-depth understanding of the cyclical model and explore personal experiences in life transition (both tracks). 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27.
- Communication Skills Building and Using the Model as an Assessment Tool Deepen the understanding of the model and how to use in working with people using case studies and personal experiences (both tracks). 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28.
- Application of the Model in Working with Individuals – Discussion and practical application of the model using case studies and personal experience (individual track only). 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5 .
- Application of the Model in Working with Groups – Practical applications using the model in group work (group track only). 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19.
- Ethics – Exploration and clarification of ethical issues in working with groups and individuals (both tracks). Noon to 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1.
- Application Facilitation – More practice using the cycle and planning for individual and/or group track evaluations (both tracks). 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2.
- Individual Track Evaluations – TBD (time depends on number of students; date usually decided on first day of class).
- Group Track Evaluations – TBD (time depends on number of students; date usually decided on first day of class).
- Internships: Each student will be assigned a coach and will receive six hours of one-on-one mentoring to deepen his/her understanding of the cycle. Students will be expected to use the cycle in individual and/or group work during this time so that the coach and student can review the student’s practical application of the cycle. Students taking both tracks will have a coach for each track.
