Do I need experience in organizational psychology?
You need at least two years of relevant work experience in organizations to enroll in the Organizational Psychology program. However, this condition is broadly interpreted, and students in the Organizational Psychology program come from a variety of backgrounds, including human resources, organizational development, labor relations, training, consulting and executive coaching.
Can a master's degree in organizational psychology lead to jobs in organizational development?
Yes. At Antioch, the study of organizational behavior and theory includes an experiential approach to organizational development. Organizational development is a subset of organizational psychology. Students apply organizational change theory in actual workplaces, moving from an increased awareness of their personal role in social change to a greater understanding of small group dynamics and methods for large group interventions. Graduates not only have a firm grounding in theory, they also have significant experience in organizational development practice.
What types of work do graduates do?
Graduates may work in human resources, organizational development or as facilitators and change agents in organizations. Alumni work in businesses, social service agencies, government and private practice in diverse roles such as human resource director, manager of labor relations, wellness consultant, marketing specialist, trainer, executive coach, organizational development consultant, total quality management manager and program director.
How long does it take to complete an M.A. in Organizational Psychology?
If you enroll as a full-time student, you can finish your degree in 21 months. If you enroll part time, you have up to six years to finish your degree. There is also a graduate certificate in Organizational Dynamics that is included with the degree or may be taken separately and can take only nine months to complete.
Is there a thesis requirement?
There is no thesis requirement for the M.A. in Organizational Psychology but students may choose to write a thesis in their second year of study with their adviser’s approval.
How much does it cost?

Can I work while I’m going to graduate school?
Yes, most students in the Organizational Psychology program have full-time or part-time jobs. Class time is concentrated to accommodate busy schedules. All courses are held one weekend a month (Friday through Monday). Between class meetings, students work online in a collaborative learning community.
