Antioch's
undergraduate teacher preparation program provides opportunities
for those with experience in school settings, or in work with children
to obtain a bachelor's degree and qualify for elementary teacher
certification. The program incorporates the values and competencies

and teacher preparation.
Antioch's program is offered full time to a cohort of 20 to 25

by the field placement coordinator in conjunction with faculty.
Throughout the ten-week quarter, you fulfill 20 hours of observation.
Student Teaching
You complete a student teaching internship during the last quarter
of the program. Passing scores on the appropriate Praxis II exam
are required prior to student teaching. Although Antioch cannot
promise to accommodate your school of preference, the field placement
coordinator will make every attempt to do so. Student teaching generally
takes 10 to 12 weeks to complete. At the end of the quarter, students
present information about their student teaching experience to peers
and faculty.
