Summary of Education and Relevant Experience
B.S., Southern Oregon State College; M.Ed., Ph.D., Pennsylvania State University.
Ted Wright has taught at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, Southern Oregon State University and Pennsylvania State University. His most recent position was with Sealaska Heritage Institute where he helped develop a regional Alaska Native Charter School. He has also worked with the Alaska Partnership for Teacher Enhancement and was responsible for developing a program of seamless academic transition so rural teacher aides could earn an Associate of Arts degree and pursue an education degree and/or complete a teacher training program.

- Organizer, Native Education Association of Anchorage
- Helped found Southeast Alaska Native Language Consortium, including the organization of two regional forums to coordinate community action and undertake strategic planning.
- Appointed by President Clinton to serve on the Issues Task Force of the White House Conference on Tourism and Travel
- Elected to the Board of Directors of Shee Atika Incorporated, the urban Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act Corporation based in Sitka, Alaska (2200 shareholders) Treasurer
- Completed advanced certification in grant proposal writing – The Grantsmanship Center San Francisco, CA.
- Elected to the Tribal Council of the Sitka Tribe of Alaska – Appointed Secretary of the Tribe and Associate Judge on the Tribal Court
- Appointed by Secretary of Interior James Watt to the Bureau of Indian Affairs Advisory Committee for Exceptional Children, a national public advocacy group representing the interests of special needs, gifted and talented American Indian and Alaska Native youth.
