| Position Summary |
The Program Development Specialist is responsible for recruiting and building relationships within Native communities to promote the Center for Creative Change and B.A. Completion programs at Antioch University Seattle. This position establishes community engagement processes to involve tribal or urban Indian communities in the recruitment, outreach and development of Native students in higher education. |
| Essential Functions/Accountabilities |
- Recruit Native students at Muckleshoot and other Tribal communities for Antioch's Center for Creative Change (C3) degree programs.
- Develop partnerships with leaders within Muckleshoot and other Tribal communities around Western Washington.
- Prepare marketing and communications materials including writing of monthly articles for the Muckleshoot Monthly and other Tribal newspapers and magazines.
- Participate in the development and evaluation of new and existing C3 core curriculum for use in a Tribal context.
- Develop support services programs to increase retention and student success.
- Assist with Antioch faculty to recruit Native faculty members.
- Document the progress and development of C3 programs at Muckleshoot.
- Participate and support similar program development for the proposed human services concentration for First Peoples in Antioch University's B.A. program.
- Position may require some travel to other tribal sites or outreach events.

| Qualifications |
- B.A. degree in humanities or social sciences.
- 1 to 2 years experience in an administrative role.
- Experience working with and knowledge in Tribal or Native American populations.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft products including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Publisher.
- Ability to establish and maintain successful relationships with diverse groups of people.
- Ability to Public speaking skills in large and small groups.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Must own vehicle and WA State driver license with required liability insurance.
- Time management skills and abilities; must be able to prioritize projects.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Minimum of 2 years marketing, public relations.
- Curriculum development experience.
- Experience working in or with Native communities.

- Ability to sit at a desk for long timeframes.
